Knowles, Taylor & Knowles at Hyacinth House

Knowles, Taylor & Knowles operated between 1870-1929 in East Liverpool, OH. The company made a wide variety of wares, starting with earthenware, Rockinghamware & white ironstone. In the 1890s, the company introduced their famed Lotus Ware, a fine porcelain similar to Beleek, but it proved too expensive to make competitively. Afterward they produced semi-porcelain dinnerwares, toilet sets, & commercial china until financial difficulties forced their closure in 1929.
