Homer Laughlin - Brittany & Cavalier at Hyacinth House

Homer Laughlin introduced the Brittany shape in 1936 and Cavalier in the early 1950s. Brittany is a conservative rim shape with simple loop handles. Cavalier is a very similar formal shape, but with footed holloware. These classic shapes continued to be made through the 1960s. Eggshell Cavalier has the same shape as regular Cavalier, but is made from a special lightweight clay. Our Eggshell Cavalier inventory is listed under the Homer Laughlin - Eggshell Shapes subcategory. Most Homer Laughlin dinnerware has a date code under their backstamp, where the first two numbers indicate the year of production.
